Just Friends

You say we can’t just be friends

But cant u make a little compromise

For the one, you used to like

And then you say you like her

But just can’t stay good friends

Even though it’s even me

Who is compromising in this

You still say we can’t just stay friends

Even it’s me who has to ignore those stare

Or an awkward moment between us two

But i am still asking you to be friends

Isn’t that true and just for us

Even though you have feelings for me

Which I can’t reciprocate to you

We can still stay friends

And laugh like the olden times

And chat like there is no end

It may be difficult for you

But even you should understand

it’s even  difficult for me

To stay with the person

Who notices every twitch in my eyes

And still, I say we should be friends

And nothing more or less

Yet you sound so upset and rude

Whenever I say we can just be friends

Friendship costs nothing

When I saw the world she looked at me

Shining eyes brighter than the sun

It was her dreams that were lost

To make this world prettier for me

There seemed no end to this demise

But still found ways to solve my problems

Never did she lost her smile

And hugged me real tight

When I could not sleep at night

When the world seemed upside down

And there seemed no friend in town

She found a way to cheer me around

And forget the worries I had found

Never did she let a tear down her eyes

For it was not till I had to say goodbyes

To find a dream for myself in life

Rather than just to be a good wife

She never stopped smiling around

Optimistic thoughts and fiction she found

A way to escape the worldly bounds

But later I found a way to turn around

And get back to the world I had found

By her side and keeping her around
